YEAR-ROUND Committees 

• Back-To-School Supply Kits – In the fall, distribute pre-purchased kits to classrooms for kids to pick up at Ice Cream Social. In the spring, distribute fliers and place supply kit company order. 
• Birthday Book Club – This program allows students to purchase books in their name for the school library in honor of their birthday. Volunteers send out information letters to parents and follow up with those parents interested in participating.  
• Book Fair – 1st book fair runs for one week in the fall, the 2nd runs during Science Fair and Pancake breakfast in the spring. Volunteers are needed to staff the fairs. 
• Brookside Elementary – IPS school that LRES “adopted”. Maintain this relationship by coordinating volunteers to help in the classrooms and collecting specific donations for this school.  
• Bulletin Board – Maintain the 2 bulletin boards at the school entrance. Publicize student birthdays and school activities submitted by staff and PTO.  
• Leopard Rewards – Volunteers promote and keep track of reward programs including Box Tops for Education, Kroger, and Amazon Smile.  
• Library Volunteer – Volunteers assist in the library. Library volunteer chair will schedule you at your convenience usually in 2-hour time blocks. Volunteers must attend one 1-hour “training” session for new volunteers.  
• Restaurant Days – Arrange for local restaurants to give back a percentage of the bill when LRE families dine at their establishment on prearranged days.  
• Room Parent Coordinator – Facilitates communication and planning among all room parent duties (2 class parties, Luau help, teacher appreciation once per year). Two room parents per class. 
• Spruce It Up – Help decorate entry to school inside and out for different seasons.  
• Staff Appreciation – Volunteers provide surprises & treats for the staff throughout the year. Also  coordinates staff appreciation week the beginning of May for a week-long celebration.

FALL Committees 

• Ice Cream Social - Organize this one-time event in August that welcomes all students and families back to school. 
• Luau –This is a carnival of games, food, and fun. Assist with advance promotion of the event and with tickets, concessions, decorations, games & attractions, and organizing the event silent auction.  

SPRING Committees 

• Our Different Abilities – Maintain and coordinate materials and volunteers for this program where students learn how to interact with individuals who have disabilities.  
• Math Madness! – Coordinate volunteers who put on an evening of fun math games.  Organize games and prizes for the night.  
• Pancake Breakfast – Parent volunteers help set-up, cook, and clean up at this one-day event in March. The pancake breakfast is held in conjunction with the Science Fair and the Book Fair.  
• Legacy Playground Pledge – Collect donations from families and corporations to support a new playground and PTO. Provide perks to donors for the project. 
• Science Fair – Help organize and run the science fair. 
• Field Day – Help run the activities on this day of athletics and fun in late May. This is a great way to help wrap up the school year with fun outside activities!
