Our most recent addition to LRE is the opportunity for all of our students to participate in Project Lead the Way Launch. These interdisciplinary modules bring learning to life through a design-thinking mindset and collaborative learning practices for kindergarten through fourth grade.

Lantern Road has a strong belief in educating the whole child. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority. We believe when students feel safe in their learning environment, the capacity for learning increases exponentially. This is one of the many reasons LRE earned the coveted Indiana Gold Star Counseling Award in 2018. Understanding the social and emotional aspect of the elementary child is key to supporting the learning in the classroom. Life Rules is a common life skills language used by all stakeholders at LRE. It is not uncommon to hear students referring to doing their personal best, practicing flexibility, and showing kindness and compassion to their peers.

Our parents also play a large part in educating the whole child. The Lantern Road PTO is a strong non-profit entity that has been able to support our learning endeavors through school wide fundraisers and activities. The PTO sponsors our annual Science Fair, Book Fairs, Math and Robotics Night, and much more. LRE parents are often found volunteering in their child’s classroom or throughout the building.
